About Us
Healthcare and software -- I guess you could say it’s in our genes. Like many home care companies, we owe our start to family. It began with our father who was a pioneer in health care technology. For nearly 40 years he played a leading role in the development and implementation of hospital software systems at Shared Medical Systems/Siemens. As children, we were exposed to the mysteries of giant mainframes, green bar paper and printers the size of small trucks.
This early fascination provided the inspiration for education and career choices made by my sister and me. Our journeys began on separate paths. Linda earned a degree in Health Care Administration and began her career with a large national home care organization, first as a scheduling coordinator and then advancing to a regional management position. In 1988 she and her partners formed FirstChoice Health Care Services. Over the next eight years the company grew to five locations with office and direct care staff in excess of 800, providing private pay, Medicaid and Medicare services. After obtaining a degree in Computer Science, I worked as a programmer at General Electric for six years developing systems and then as an IT consultant helping government agencies select Police, Fire, Dispatch and Reporting systems. In 1993 our paths converged when I joined FirstChoice as the Director of Information Technology, charged with building departmental applications and managing existing systems (and their vendors). In 1994 FirstChoice was sold and I started a small consulting business with clients needing help selecting and managing home care systems. In 1999 I formed Stratis to develop and support Visitrax our first fully integrated Operation, Scheduling and Billing system. Soon after, I coaxed Linda out of early retirement to help find our first clients. We knew there was a market for an affordable, easy-to-use system, backed by a team with a focus on customer support. Today, our team supports over 850 active home care offices across the US and Canada who depend on our legacy Visitrax product or our new flagship system Soneto.
Looking ahead, Stratis is well positioned for future expansion. Soneto has grabbed the attention of industry leaders and is now the foundation for more than 100 companies with over 700 branch or franchise locations. Unlike most enterprise grade home care products, Soneto was architected from the start for the challenges of both Private Pay and Medicare Certified agencies – this makes us very unique in the home care software space. Recently we released our proprietary Telephony and Point of Care solutions to further strengthen both lines of business. Our twelve year track record of success, knowledgeable home care staff, and now leading technology in Soneto ensure that our clients will be well positioned to compete as the home care market heats up.
